Join us for a Q&A session with ‘Why We Cycle’ filmmaker Gertjan Hulster after watching this inspiring documentary on Vimeo in the 24 hours before.
Mr Hulster says that conversations with ordinary people in the Netherlands “uncover some obvious, but even more hidden effects of cycling on people, on society, and on the organization of cities.”
“To the Dutch, cycling is as normal as breathing. We don’t think about it, we just do it. Perhaps the fact that we don’t think about it, is the key to the bicycle’s success in this country. But because we do not give cycling a second thought, we don’t really know what the deeper needs of cyclists are.”
Hear from Mr Hulster why he made the movie and what insights he’s gained since making it. This is your chance to put your questions to him.
Narrated by Chris Boardman, the former racing cyclist who is now a leading promoter of cycling, this movie gives you a glimpse of a future that’s within our reach.
Once you have got your ticket – a donation is optional – watch the movie in your own time and join the live Q&A at 6pm on 15 July.
